Grand Jury Declines To Indict Suspends Six Games

Deshaun Watson Reaches Settlements in Sexual Misconduct Cases

Grand Jury Declines to Indict, Suspends Six Games

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has reached confidential settlements with all but four women who accused him of sexual misconduct, according to multiple reports.

Watson Accused of Multiple Incidents of Assault

Watson was accused of more than 20 incidents of sexual assault or sexual harassment by 24 women. The allegations included claims that he forced women to perform oral sex, exposed himself to them, and touched them inappropriately. Watson denied all wrongdoing.

Grand Jury Declines to Indict

A Texas grand jury on Friday declined to indict Watson, meaning that he will not face criminal charges for the allegations. However, an independent investigation by the NFL concluded that Watson violated the league's personal conduct policy and suspended him for six games.

Settlements Reached

Watson has now reached settlements with 20 of the 24 women who made claims against him. The terms of the settlements are confidential. It is unclear whether the remaining four women still intend to pursue legal action against Watson.

NFL Suspension

Watson is scheduled to serve his six-game suspension at the start of the 2022 NFL season. He will be eligible to return to the Browns in Week 7.
