The opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics took place on the evening of Friday 27 July 2012 in the Olympic Stadium London. The Queen Elizabeth II, Head of the Commonwealth formally opened the Games.
British Icons Take Centre Stage
The ceremony featured a star-studded lineup of British icons. James Bond and Mr Bean made memorable appearances, adding to the excitement of the night. Tour de France winner and triple Olympic champion Bradley Wiggins also participated in the ceremony.
