Midfielder insists team can make history by reaching Euro 2024 knockout stages
Scotland have the mentality and capability to prove people wrong by making history and staying in Euro 2024 promises midfielder John McGinn.
The Aston Villa player was speaking ahead of Scotland's opening match of the tournament against the Czech Republic on Monday.
Scotland have not reached the knockout stages of a major tournament since the 1998 World Cup, but McGinn believes this team has the quality to change that.
"We know we're underdogs, but we're not afraid of anyone," McGinn said. "We have a good team, with a lot of experience and quality.
"We're going to go out there and give it our all, and we believe we can make history."
Scotland are in Group D of Euro 2024, alongside the Czech Republic, England and Croatia.
The Scots will need to finish in the top two of the group to reach the knockout stages.
They will be hoping to get off to a winning start against the Czech Republic on Monday.
The match kicks off at 7pm at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
