Cale Makar's Incredible Solo Goal Helps Avalanche Stomp Out Jets in Game 4

The Colorado Avalanche have advanced to the second round of the playoffs after a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory over the Dallas Stars in Game 7 of their first-round series. Miles Wood scored the game-winning goal just 3:03 into overtime, giving the Avalanche the series win.

The Stars had taken a 3-0 lead in the second period, but the Avalanche rallied to tie the game in the third period on goals by Valeri Nichushkin and Nathan MacKinnon. Cale Makar then scored a stunning solo goal in the final minutes of regulation to give the Avalanche the lead, but Roope Hintz tied the game for the Stars with just 1:03 remaining.

In overtime, Wood took a pass from Makar and skated in on Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger. Wood deked Oettinger and then backhanded the puck into the net to give the Avalanche the win.

The Avalanche will now face the St. Louis Blues in the second round of the playoffs. Game 1 of the series is scheduled for Wednesday night in Denver.
